About This Project

The Brief

To celebrate Aon’s head office moving to London and to raise money for Aon’s charity.

The Added Dimension

Using Old Billingsgate as an iconic London venue and Aon’s corporate colours in an innovative way, the reception area featured a 12metre diameter string chandelier rigged above an impressive circular bar and lit completely in red LED.  Standing on a plinth in the middle of the bar was a saxophonist to entertain the guests and add a unique focal point.  Stylish furniture graced the area with strategic poseur tables placed at the River Thames end of the venue to allow the American guests stunning views of London.

The guests enjoyed a sumptuous menu celebrating the taste of an English Spring season and the live talent of the popular British opera singer Russell Watson.  As well as speeches and corporate videos to engage the guests, a charity auction was held.  AON work in partnership with the charity Find A Better Way.  Before the entertaining, fast paced auction, Stuart Hughes who is a senior world affairs producer with BBC News, presented a talk to the guests about his personal experience and encounter with a landmine, his speech was extremely emotive, which helped the guests dig deep for the Auction!

460 guests attended including the full Aon Board of directors, insurance industry leaders and many members from Manchester United.

The Result

The Auction raised over £100,000 for “Find A Better Way” and the evening confirmed Aon’s move to new iconic offices in London, close to Lloyds.
