DAY OF THE DEAD 21ST PARTY

About This Project
For a client who wanted a completely unique party theme; a theme that none of his friends had thought of or could have dreamt of for a September 21st Birthday party, a Day Of The Dead themed celebration fitted the brief perfectly.
With 300 guests arriving in spectacular colourful outfits, inspired by the theme, they were treated to champagne and delicious canapés on the lawn in front of the client’s house.
With dinner called, guests made their way through a marquee entrance area beautifully decorated as a Mexican street market; with stalls full of vibrant produce and colourful detailed bunting strung above their heads – this set the scene for the next stage – entering the dining area.
What can only be described as pure wow factor, a 15ft hand painted stone effect Madonna statue stood in the centre of the marquee. Adorned with shrine like décor cascading over the statue’s steps and hand painted life size beautifully adorned skeleton characters, complete with Day of The Dead face paints and exotic headdresses, the statue was the focal point of the room.
Tables positioned around the statue on two levels, were each decorated with elaborate Day of The Dead table centres of black skulls or wooden crosses surrounded with vibrant coloured flowers. With real trees interspersed between the tables, festoon lighting and further colourful bunting overhead, it all added to the theme’s alfresco and celebratory feel.
With a delicious dinner and a surprise performance from British comedian and freestyle rapper extraordinaire, Chris Turner, guests were equally astounded when Added Dimension secretly lit over 500 nightlights which were scattered over the lawn visible from the marquee through the clear walls. As the sun set, the flickering candles glowed – it was a spectacular sight for as far as the eye could see – a wonderful added dimension to the night.
In a secret nightclub with gravestone tables, a thousand stars and a shrine for the DJ; they danced the night away in an explosion of colour and life-affirming joy!
